About Us
The Woods Hole Cantata Consort is a summer community chorale and chamber orchestra that performs a program of classical music on an August weekend in Woods Hole, Massachusetts.
Begun in 1974 as one of the Marine Biological Laboratory Club's summer activities, the concert has become an eagerly anticipated annual event in the greater Falmouth area. Singers from many communities on the Upper Cape come together to sing each summer; one orchestra member even travels to Woods Hole from California to participate! 2012 will be Music Director Judith Brownell's twelfth year directing the Consort.
The Woods Hole Cantata Consort is established as a Massachusetts Public Charitable Trust under Chapter 5.01c(3) of the IRS Code, which means that financial gifts made to it are tax-deductible within the limits of the law.
